Should be treated as a painted item
Painted items will last much longer when kept in sheltered areas if outside.
Do not use harsh abrasives or chemicals on painted items.
Outside objects will benefit from resealing or treatment with a water repellant such as wax, leading up to rainy or cold weather.
If hanging with anything other than chain make sure your hanger can hold the weight and check regularly for signs of wear or weather damage.
