About us

The idea for this, the idea for the name,

'The Dog Pile', came about when I was asked 'what is your favourite place?' and I immediately replied, without even having to think about it 'being in the middle of a dog pile.'

I was already working as an artist and antique restorer and as I scritch scratched away the dogs would all bundle into a heap and fall loudly (and stinkingly) asleep.

I would get up from my chair, eyes tired, hands aching, back stiff, and throw myself on the floor and the dogs would all leap up from their comfort just to comfort me! 

At one point I had 28, all sizes, all ages from tiny pups to big old sloppy mutts and it was absolute bliss to be swamped by all those silly loving awesome hearts...

My partner, my friends, my family, started referring to all the good and wonderful things in Life as a 'dog pile.'

We are all crazy about our pets, about our arts and crafts, collecting and sharing odd tips, tricks and objects to make our pets lives better, healthier and content and about making the World a prettier, happier place by combining our greatest passions.
